Multicutural coaching
Meeting beyond cultures: How to communicate and motivate people regardless of their culture of origin
Globalization and high professional mobility are creating new type of professionals whose career and lives span across the globe.
These are men and women who:
- have lived and worked in several countries
- have often married someone from a different nationality
- works with colleagues from all over the globe and can hardly relate to any specific cultural stereotype.
Truly connecting and meeting with such people requires to meet them "beyond" culture. It requires to transcend our differences and let go of pre-conceived ideas regarding countries and customs and adopt a state of "respectful curiosity".
As managers and coaches we need to approach each and every conversation from a place of individual consideration.
At the heart of each human being the pillars of motivations are the same and cultural differences are simply the different ways to express and manifest the same basic human needs. In order to understand and respond to these needs as coaches, as managers, as parents we need to become skillful at connecting through asking those questions that help us understand how each person communicates and is uniquely motivated.
During this course we will explore
What drives motivation with a simple, powerful and memorable model How to ask the right coaching questionsl to discoverour own motivation map and those of others How to efffectively connect and keep an open communication with anyone regardless of his country of origin.
